We are an independent organization known as the "Imam Hussein Media Group," which has received endorsements and signatures from several esteemed religious authorities. Our group owns five television networks broadcasting in Persian, Arabic, English, Urdu, and Turkish. We also offer 24/7 live broadcasts from the holy sites in Iraq through our TV channel called "Imam Hussein Live ." The news agency "Shia Waves" operates under our ownership and covers global news, particularly related to Shia communities, in five languages: Persian, Arabic, English, Urdu, and Turkish.
The Imam Hussein Media Group was founded on July 26, 2009, corresponding to Imam Hussein’s birthday anniversary in Iran, at the behest of the highly esteemed religious authority Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Hussein Shirazi. This establishment was initiated by a group of his followers within the religious-cultural assembly of the Beyt AlAbbas in Isfahan, Iran. Imam Hussein TV in Persian language began its trial broadcast on the anniversary of Imam Hussein's birth.
Simultaneously, our media group was registered in the United States under the name Imam Hussein Television Network, commencing its first broadcasts on the Hotbird satellite on July 26, 2009. Currently, our television channels are accessible via Nilesat, Turksat, and Yahsat satellites, as well as through internet streaming platforms including Apple TV, Roku TV, Android TV, Samsung, LG, and social media such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok.
Initially, our media group started with seven founding board members and continues to operate under a board led by Hujjat al-Islam Mustafa Mohammadi.
Over the past sixteen years, we have gradually transcended geographic, political, and cultural borders, becoming one of the largest independent Islamic-Shia media outlets. From the beginning, our goal has been to keep alive the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and his esteemed progeny peace be upon them, which promote humanity, Conscientiousness, wisdom, peaceful coexistence, and a distance from violence. Our hope and effort is to continually educate and raise awareness among our audience, guiding them toward sound behaviour, authentic culture, and the true beliefs of Twelver Shia Islam, based on the Quran and the Ahlulbayt peace be upon them.

Imam Hussein TV in Persian is the first independent Shia television network for Persian speakers worldwide. Its trial broadcasts began on July 26, 2009 (3rd of Sha'ban 1430 AH) on the Hotbird satellite. The network has produced millions of minutes of programming in Persian across Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, the UK, Canada, and the US, and it is available on Yahsat and various online streaming platforms. Imam Hussein TV in Arabic (قناة الامام الحسین علیه السلام الفضائية) commenced its broadcasts on May 26, 2012 (3rd of Rajab 1433 AH) with the slogan "A Hussaini Radiance Illuminates Horizons." The channel produces its programs in Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UK, Canada, and the US, and broadcasts on Nilesat and online streaming platforms. Imam Hussein TV in Urdu (امام حسین علیه السلام عالمی طی وی چینل پر) launched on August 4, 2017 and produces programs in Iraq, India, Pakistan, and the UK. It broadcasts to audiences worldwide via online streaming platforms and social media. The headquarters is in Lucknow, India.
5. Imam Hussein TV in Turkish
Imam Hussein TV in Turkish (Al-Zehra TV) began operation on January 20, 2016 after the ownership transfer of the global Al-Zehra TV to the Imam Hussein Media Group. This network produces content in Turkye, Azerbaijan, and Iraq, distributing it via Turksat and online streaming platforms to audiences in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Imam Hussein Live TV was launched on September 8, 2021, on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba peace be upon him, with the aim of providing extensive coverage of the Arbaeen pilgrimage that year. However, due to popular demand, the network continued its 24/7 live coverage of all holy shrines in Iraq. ShiaWaves News Agency was established on July 5, 2012, as the first Shia news agency independent of any government, party, or political institution. The agency monitors, verifies, produces, and publishes news on the latest global events, especially those related to Shia Muslims, on a daily basis in five languages: Persian, Arabic, English, Urdu, and Turkish. ShiaWaves' content is distributed through seven satellite, cable, and online networks. In addition to current events, the agency focuses on topics such as Shia holy shrines, Shia marja'iyyah (religious authority), Quranic activities, anti-Shia sentiment, Shia media and institutions, Shia culture and art, science and technology, and Husseini assemblies and rituals. The headquarters of ShiaWaves News Agency is located in Karbala, Iraq.
